In 2019, 3 out of 4 championship-winning teams in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship used CTech storage in some form or another; from Caster Carts to Observation-style pit carts, trailer cabinets, and more. It’s no secret that off-track organization breeds on-track success, and that’s especially true in endurance racing. When IMSA officially kicks off the racing season later in January with the historic 24 Hours of Daytona, teams will be pushing the limits of their own equipment as well as themselves in an effort to win. As the hours go by, teams will have to service their racecars, perform tire changes, refuel, repair damage, and make strategic adjustments all from the confines of their pit box.

Imagine this; your own team is leading the race when an unexpected issue brings the car to pit lane. You have to immediately scramble to diagnose, repair, and release the car before losing too much time. Throw in the fact that it’s dark out and you’ve just woken up the rest of your crew from a dead sleep at 2:00 AM… That’s certainly not the time to wish you were better organized! This is precisely why CTech works so hard to make sure that every team they work with is getting exactly what they need to stay ahead in those high-pressure moments.

For officials behind the scenes at IMSA, their job can be just as stressful. Every move on track and in pit lane has to be monitored closely, and CTech is committed to making sure that their storage needs are also well taken care of. Through the thousands of miles put on at and between races, CTech staff is proud to help keep the show going smoothly!

Coming off a successful 50th anniversary season, IMSA heads into the new decade with a new partner, and a new President. Longtime Mazda Motorsport Director John Doonan, often referred to as “The hardest working person in Motorsport,” was tipped to take over as President in late 2019 much to the delight of motorsport insiders. Doonan’s impressive range of expertise and popularity in the road racing community makes his arrival a big advantage for IMSA and the various series operating underneath it.

Besides the flagship WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series, IMSA also oversees the Michelin Pilot Challenge, Prototype Challenge, Porsche GT3 Cup presented By Yokohama, Lamborghini Super Trofeo, and more.
