Road America Motorplex Receives New Cabinets

November 10, 2021 – Elkhart Lake, WI: When the racing season ends at Road America, the upgrade and maintenance season begins. With little time to spare, any and all upgrades to the 640+ acre facility must be completed before the green flag flies in 2022.

One major upgrade has already been wrapped up; with the Motorplex receiving a suite of brand new custom cabinets. During the previous year’s offseason a big, beautiful, brand new timing & scoring building was erected near start/finish line of the world-famous Motorplex.

CONTINUING A TRADITION BUILDING IT BETTER

Although the property’s 4+ mile road course is the main attraction, Road America’s Motorplex is making a name of itself in the karting, mini moto, and drifting world. For the most part, thanks to Road America’s comprehensive approach to consistently reinvesting into the facilities.

THE MOTORPLEX’S MONSTER NEW BUILDING

Visitors to the Motorplex throughout 2021 were speechless at the size, layout, and overall stature of the new timing and scoring building. Its convenient placement along the false grid makes it an impressive structure, complete with an open-air lookout which provides a fantastic view of the motorplex and surrounding landscape.

The new building itself features two large rooms at either end of the structure, which help host public karting and accommodate series officiating. The open concept middle room is used for storage and classroom seating.

In the lefthand room, Road America employees collect tickets and coordinate the incredibly popular public karting crowd during large events. The cabinets in this room reflect that, with two sales kiosk systems and desk space to provide comfortable, secure, and presentable workstations for employees.

In the righthand room, plenty of seating and additional workspaces await guests and officials visiting the motorplex. On the far wall, a set of bench seats with storage underneath provide both comfort and storage, while workstations along the front wall provide unmatched views of the racing surface.

Last but certainly not least, the new building’s bathroom also received the “CTech treatment” with a compact matching vanity for toiletry storage. Also, in the main classroom a large custom two-opening caster cart was commissioned to provide rolling storage for bulky items. It can be easily rolled in and out of the room to free up additional space.
